A queue punk, sure

My physiotherapist kept asking if I wanted to experience acupuncture until finally I decided I would try it. She poked me and left me with a bell. When I left her office I felt like I had just smoked a joint. Incredible! After that I was hooked… I have to say getting cat whiskers under the nose, and also the top of the head was the best for releasing my trigeminal and general face stuff.

I discovered a few acupuncturists in my area and soon learned about “making the connection” where the needles are connected together with a wire and a tens machine is run through them to electrify the meridians… Game changing stuff!

I did have a really bad time with one specific guy I hadn’t seen before at my regular girls office, where he berated me for being unable to handle his 6 needles when usually I could take 25… He laughed at me and left me crying!!

I was scared to go back for more than a year, but I started again with a different physiotherapist, since my original girl has long since moved across the country in pursuit of her best life.

More recently I have had acupuncture on my knee for a knee injury and the guy is like, this is attached to your liver and spleen, seriously the next week my liver and spleen released… So , even though I’ve had bad experiences, I know there are good experiences to be had! If you have longstanding pains that don’t respond well to anything, it might be worth the risk to seek out a physiotherapist who can ease you into it sweetly.
